Childrens Vitamins Are Not Giving The Necessary Nutrients

According to recent study carried out in the United Kingdom, most of the vitamins marketed for young children are little more than expensive candy.
Kate Neil, of the Centre for Nutrition Education who carried out the research said:
"They look like sweets, taste like sweets and in a sense they are sweets."
Out of the 14 popular brands they tested, only 5 had all the nutrients considered essential and in a similar vein, Omega 3 supplements often had lower than the recommended dose.
While the study was carried out in the UK, the same is sure to be true of vitamin supplements sold in the US. It is a huge market with parents concerned that their children are not receiving the necessary vitamins and minerals from their daily diet.
Of course, the simplest and cheapest way to ensure children are getting everything they need is to look at their diet. If your children eat a health, balanced diet with the recommended fruits and vegetables, there should be no need for them to have to take a multivitamin.
Fast food and processed foods can also have a major impact on health. Not only do they offer little in the way of nutritional value, some will add to health problems such as obesity, thereby having a negative impact on health.
If you do not feel confident that diet alone is enough and you still want to buy a multivitamin, do your research. Buy the best quality supplement that you can afford and always read the label.
